Adores x Binan Koukou Chikyuu Bouei-bu LOVE! Cafe Collaboration Part 2

Hello, Heroes and Heroines!

It's April 27, 2016. If you've been reading my blog, you would know that I queue my posts as I have classes during Saturdays.

In a few days, the election is coming. What's going to happen? I can't help but feel uncertain to the point that I become fearful of the future. When people defend what is wrong, what is immoral, what does that say about us as a people? As Filipinos? It's as though the Filipino people have traded their conscience for a so-called "better life". The most viable of all choices ranks in the middle. The most decent, kind-hearted and hard-working man is seen as 'boring' and people throw him with insults and laughs at him and his wife.

What's going to happen to the economy? If the country plunges into the depths, what's my recourse? Am I prepared to live out of the Philippines for years? As of the moment, I am considering studying abroad in Japan. I'll start off at a language school and continue my education. I've never felt such a need to have a back-up plan in my entire life, but these days, I'm beginning to feel like there is no other choice.

However, I still have my hope. I still have God. At the end of the day, light will always overcome darkness. The good will always triumph.

I'll stand by my candidate Mar Roxas no matter what happens. I believe in him.

When this post is published, it'll be on May 28. I'll be in Tokyo for a short vacation. My heart is that when I read this when I return, I hope I'll be able to give good news.

Anyway, that was a bit dark. I apologise if I went off-topic and set such a moody tone!

What's more important than where you come from or the blood that runs course through your veins... is what you choose to become.

I refuse to look back.

Moving on...

You can get the merch up on my Storenvy!

The collaboration menu looks the most colourful among all the other cafes I visited last February!

Initially, I wasn't planning on visiting this cafe as I wasn't too familiar with Shibuya. Not only that but I've never watched Boueibu before! All I know of this series was that Kris often drew it and that it was a magical boys show! I do, however, admit that its vibrant colours often caught my eye. I'm definitely going to begin watching when I have the time!

After visiting Kanahei Cafe, my Mom offered that we stop by as it was basically on the same floor. I haven't eaten much, and she was worried that I might pass out if I didn't eat up~ (I love you, Mom! Hehe!) It was serendipity at its finest.

I regret not trying out En's dessert and Wombat's meal. That egg dish looked great! I wonder if there will come a time when external stomachs may be added to our bodies? Eh, eh? *nudges you* Akoya's Ice-Cream Sandwich dessert looked heavy. I assumed that the bagels would be dense... and between you and I, I was looking around to see if anyone ordered it... not a single soul did!

I took that as a sign...

Here lies many of Mika's regrets~

I wanted something refreshing at that time. My Mom and I walked a looooong way to get to PARCO so underneath the warm sun just had to get something cooling. On any normal circumstance, I definitely would have chosen to get Akoya's Angelic Perla Milk Tea! There would have been no doubt about it!

Yumoto and Kinshiro's looked great as well!

I apologise if the photos look a bit on the lower quality side! I used my iPhone! Awkwardly enough, I like to forget my camera when I need it most.

IBUSHI HAS A CRUSH ON ME. STOP FOLLOWING ME HUHU!

I keep on getting him from blind draws.

I ordered Ryu's Cutie Lady Cherry Pink!

Mom bought Atsushi's drink!

This was actually my first choice but Mom beat me to it!

dat egg tho

Kinshiro's ~ Never Know Pasta ~ is basically carbonara with fettuccine pasta along with veggie and onsen tamago! It looked so good~

I got Atsushi's Green Curry dish!

It was a pretty standard Thai Green curry with small pieces of meat strewn with the curry sauce. There's nothing THAT spectacular about it. You could easily purchase a pack of green curry from the convenience store, and it would probably taste quite similar... but I'm a Filipino so I'm used to these kind of things. Haha! It had a mild spiciness to it that I like very much! I also like the way it was presented.

Over-all, I think if you go to anime cafes, it's best to order the dishes that are plated the best! You go to cafes for the experience after all.

At this point, my Mom already ordered dessert... but I still wanted to eat a meal! I should have probably posted my Mom's dessert first but meh! I like to work in categories.

I ordered Yumoto's Karaage dish!

A lot of girls were ordering this so I thought, why not?

As you can see, my dearest Mother has finished hers and is judging me for not finishing mine quickly!

The chef here at Shibuya Parco AniPlaza was so kind! He would cook and simultaneously deliver our meals after he made them! There were only 2-3 waitresses, and they also had to manage the counter so they work hard!

Now, Yumoto's meal is basically my ideal meal.

It's chicken-egg heaven!

In Aniplaza, they have a sign there to finish eating your rice and not waste anything. Anime cafes tend to pile on the rice which is kind-of frustrating! I finished it though. I'm Filipino, after all. I appreciate the farmers' efforts.

The tamagoyaki was freshly done. Unlike your store bought bento Tamagoyakis, these were FLUFFY! Ah~ Fuwaa fuwaa~ The karaage was also freshly done! Crispy and juicy! Too bad there were only 2 pieces... sigh.

The quail egg was a nice touch!

I appreciate that very much!

I also ordered En's drink!

Mom's dessert~ Io's!

For dessert, I ordered Zundar's Matcha cake!

It's not as sweet as you'd expect~ The cake was of good quality, too. Not dense, not all that airy. Just right! I love the matcha filling inside as well as the green syrup at the bottom!

Thank you for reading! If you stuck with me for this long, I'm grateful!

Love,
Mika

Namja Town Part 2: FREE! Collaboration (FOOD!)

Hello, Heroes and Heroines!

As I type this entry, it would be exactly 1 month (2 days on the day this is published) before I return back to Tokyo!

I truly miss Japan.

Today, I'll talk about the food I ate in Namja Town! I like to divide the posts of the area and the foods I eat, because it's probably overkill to my readers who have poor internet. I love posting large photos, too. I think you can only truly appreciate a photo if you see its little details~ I believe that's one of the things that constitutes a good photo, y'know? At the same time, how I wish I could take better photos! There was a point in my life wherein I wanted to take photographs for a living but I realised that my passion for helping others was more important to me than anything else.

ANYWAY... (Got sidetracked there...)

We spent over half a day at Namja Town, and I played tons of games and lotteries so as you can probably tell... I ate a lot! (Sporadically from 1 PM to 7 PM... that is! Please note that this wasn't all at once! XD *sweats*)

Again, please note that this was not all at once!

If I did, you'd see me rolling down the street instead of walking! *rolls*

I got translations from Audrey's awesome site~

For lunch, I had Ikuya's Berry Grape Juice. This was honestly the best drink I had at Namja Town. It surprisingly didn't taste generic at all. I was quite pleased with how it came out. Originally, I wanted to try Haru's but... if you know me well, you'd know how much I'm in love with berries. I figured purple was definitely grape or something with a berry in it. I'm glad I tried it as it was so good and refreshing~

Now before we continue, which of these two photos do you think was the one taken from my iPhone 6S Plus and Samsung NX3000 (Yes, I know, Mika... have you really degraded from your Canon Mark II? Well, yes.) This photo directly above is from my iPhone! Imagine that! It's quite amazing how technology has developed!

My meal was Nao's Gift Karuta Gyoza! Staying at Namja Town is such a penny sucker. Most of their servings are small. Especially this meal! (I demand justice!) However, I have to give it to them. IT WAS GOOD. Basically, they're steamed dumplings with a thicker and softer wrapping. I can't quite explain it! We don't have anything similar here locally, but I suppose I can compare it to a Xiao Long Bao with meat bun fillings. Please do correct me if you know the proper term for this meal! It's the first time I've ever had it, you see. The cream sauce at the bottom was a delicious addition. It muted down the flavour of the fillings. (I wanted to order more but there were plenty of other things to try!)

Also, the star-shaped cornflakes was an adorable addition!

Let me zoom in for you!

Merienda (Mid-Afternoon Meal) time, I was feeling doozy from playing around Namja Town. (Too much shooting games... I am ashamed to admit it.) From my coin purse, I purchased Natsuya's Pork Cutlet-like Gyoza. It was freshly cooked so I gobbled it up in an instant before I continued playing! For hours... eh heh heh.

My Mom says I have way too much energy for a 22 year-old!

Funny story: The lady who was making this rolled cabbage up was way too kind. I was quite nervous as I wasn't sure when she was going to give it to me. It was freshly rolled. I kept going back to her stall to check if it was made. (I didn't want to be a bother...) She kept smiling at me and said x more minutes. *sweats*

My Mom ate this and it was really mild. Makoto's Rolled Cabbage Gyoza was alright! At least it was served hot1

I thought the Makoto Tachibana print was a biscuit. I ate it...

IT WAS STYROFOAM.

My Mom giggled at me as I frowned much to my displeasure.

Up next,

DINNER TIME!

Makoto's Melon Calpis!

Ikuya and Haru's Teamwork! Gyoza with Soup looked gorgeous but tasted absolutely average. I mean, I'm sure a lot of people would find its taste very nice but it wasn't as flavourful as I hoped it would be. The colours meshed together made it great, but for the price + quality, I wasn't as keen on it.

Inside Haruka's Special Mackerel Bento! Err, another... average offering. The bento was premade so everything was cold + dry. Everything tasted alright together, please don't get me wrong. But again, for the price plus quality? Just go to the convenience instead and get yourself a better meal. Again, these are just my opinions. I do understand that meals from this kind of theme parks are on the average side as presentation precedes quality more than anything else.

*snap, snap*

At least, they made the packaging cute! I bought this home as a remembrance!

My Mom ordered this and I just photographed it! Just a small addition! I didn't eat here for dessert! I had parfait somewhere in Ikebukuro instead~

I hope you enjoyed my post!

Love,
Mika

Adores x Diabolik Lovers MORE BLOOD Cafe Collaboration Part 1

Hello, Heroes and Heroines!

... mostly Heroines, I'm assuming...

Because, today, we shall be discussing the Adores x Diabolik Lovers Cafe Collaboration!

*guys have now officially began to click the x on the upper left corner of their browsers*

It's okay, bros. I understand. Am I being pretentious? Do I even have male readers to begin with? Probably not.

This was my first ever anime cafe! I was first intrigued by the various posts on the FREE! Adores Cafe collaboration from the lovely people of the internet! Unfortunately, I was never able to visit the Eternal Summer cafe. I even missed it for a few days when it returned to Akihabara (from Sapporo) after I left home for Manila. I'd rather not talk about it. It breaks my heart too much! *pats self* It's okay, it's okay! There are plenty of opportunities in the future! That is for certain!

*sniffs*

Anyway, it was an early morning when I randomly decided that I'd be going to Ikebukuro! I was never that familiar with the area as I've only gone once so it was a bit scary at first! Eventually, I got used to the area quickly. It's something I'm quite proud of! I even asked my friends over to help me out online which was fun, too!

I wish I had more friends who like anime...

Should I set-up a Periscope account so I can bring you guys with me in my adventures?

My Mom was a trooper that day, and we had breakfast here before heading over to Namja Town! Or should I say before she shopped a lot and made me carry everything? Hmm... Well, I don't mind carrying lots of things so long as I'm not hungry!

Ah, I've never seen such a big gathering of fellow Diabolik Lovers fans! It makes me happy that I finally got into the cafe scene and can be surrounded with people who share the same interests as I do. I'm truly pleased that I was able to go!

It was my first time to ever visit an anime cafe, so I was extremely nervous! We were shopping at the third floor of the Adores shop. At some point, I was losing hope about going directly and just telling myself that this wasn't for me (because I'm generally a very shy person). I asked my Mom if she could ask the kind lady if we could join in and the lady just brought us there! Normally, you'd need a reservation first but as it was the first slot of the day, there weren't so much people!

God, thank you!

This sparked my love for anime cafes! Now I'm hooked! Please expect more cafe reviews in the near future!

Wall of the Mukami and Sakamaki twins!

I can't believe I cut Kanato off!

Why, self! WHY!!!

As this is a rather ~provacative~ series, I wasn't sure how my Mom would feel about bringing her to such a cafe. I mean, it doesn't really play well with our conservative family but I just tried to talk to her about how cute the chibified characters were and the food! It ended up well, and we even returned for a couple of times. I'm glad I have such a kind Mom!

During my first visit, I sat at Kou-chan's table by default. I didn't know you could pick your own tables! If I did, I would have sat at Kanato's spot right then and there! There were 2 friends who sat beside us who loved Kanato that they traded every merch possible for him~ I was kinda sad that I couldn't interact much at first as I was shy. Plus, my Japanese speaking skills are still rather poor...

On my second visit, I sat at Shu-san's table!

Now, I'm not sure if I spoke about this before but on the tables, you can get the merch list to which you can write down as much / the quantity you want to buy! Very enterprising! You can purchase your items at the cashier after your meal~ Just bring that piece of paper with you, pick your items from the front and pay!

Shuu-san, y u so cute!!!

Mom sat on Reiji's side. She actually likes him!

... and Reiji loves me, too much. Along with Subaru.

Wall decorations!

Mom likes to point out that she likes Ruki the most. She often likes to discuss who the most handsome characters are. I guess she does this to join in on my fangirlness. I truly appreciate her efforts~ A lot of girls would probably be embarrassed to bring their parents. Myself included! Not because she's my Mom but I didn't really want to expose her to the fangirling atmospher which can be a little too much at times!

The otaku culture is too much for my Mom who is conservative! I appreciate her love and kindness though.

Just like the Dandevi cafe, there's also a television set here and it replayed a trailer of MORE BLOOD again and again!

*replaces Yui with my face*

There, much better. Let's just imagine it's my face, yes?

There was a communal table for single diners. I would have stayed here if I didn't go with my Mom! I think it's a good place to interact with your fellow fans and try to get to know each other. That said, I did make friends on my third visit!

The wall stickers were already sold out by the time I got there. I was disappointed I couldn't get a Kanato one.

The cashier + merch corner!

Please await the 2nd part! I'll be posting it soon!

Love,
Mika

Namja Town Part 1: FREE! Collaboration

Hello, Heroes and Heroines!

I finally managed to take some time off to do more Japan posts! To be quite honest, I haven't pulled out enough motivation from the deepest crevices of my brain to recall what happened months ago. As I type this, it's already mid-April and this post will be published on May 07. I keep on trying to convince myself that motivation will come eventually but I might as well force it out off me at this point.

Whenever I remember my first blog (here!), I remember how fond of telling stories I once was. Growing-up, I loved to read books and write stories so it truly hurts to see myself not enjoy the same things I was - at some point - passionate about. I've been speaking to my good friend Wayne about Photography, and I hope I get right back on track! I feel my day to day existence has been weighing me down!

Anyway, let's move on to the entry!

My Mom wasn't too excited about me going to Namja Town because it was an Anime filled area. Although I'm blessed that my parents often allow me to indulge in my flights of fancy, staying in Anime area for hours on end may have annoyed Mom! Haha! Going there was also a bit tedious. We took the underground path from Tokyu Hands and it was ways to go!

In the end, it was worth it though!

The entrance fee was around 1000 yen per person so it was quite expensive! The lady advised that since I wasn't too well-versed in Nihongo to just purchase the basic ticket (without any privileges) as I wouldn't be able to understand the instructions! My heart was a little down-trodden after realising that even after all this time, I still sucked at speaking it. However, when I did get inside, it was alright as I had fun browsing around!

Ta-dah!

At first, I was expecting Namja Town to be that of a theme park with huge rides. (It was my first time visiting!) Apparently, it was more of a park / arcade combination! We went on a weekday and yet it was packed with lots of lovely people, mostly children with their parents! Whenever I see a strong family, it makes me very happy and gives me hope for my future family.

I truly hope I'll be able to bring my child(ren) and husband here someday! I'm sure we'll have the best time!

Kitties galore!

Hello, Kitty-chan! (I'm sorry! I forgot his name! It slipped through my mind.) See you again in a few weeks? *winks*

Imagine how riled up I felt after seeing Danganronpa and Yowamushi Pedal!

I wish I had a big(ger) stomach to fit in more food in my tummy! The main reason why I went to Namja Town was because of FREE!. I wish I was able to return a second time though so I could've had a more focused visit for YowaPeda or DR! *crosses finger there will be a next time* My Mom isn't much of a glutton as I am so... boo.

It took us awhile to get here as my Mom was browsing around the mall. In the end, she purchased way too much after my visit! I'm honestly glad I was able to visit! I love this place so much~ I'm SO happy God allowed me to visit this place for you guys to read~ ^ o ^ /

FREE! and Uta No Prince-Sama were some of the anime featured! I hope when I return in a few weeks, there will be more collaborations! I would rather have more otome series featured because then that'll be so cool!

*fuwaa fuwaa feeling*

I regret not trying more of the Uta-Pri meals! They looked so good!

Sticker post-its for the FREE! Starting Days! movie! You get a Sakura post-it whenever you purchase something from the shop~ I placed one there, of course! ^ o ^ /

FREE! Games!

I hope you all enjoyed this brief post! I shall return with a Part 2.

For now, I shall pack my bags for Tokyo as my schedule is piling up!

Love,
Mika
