Adores x Diabolik Lovers MORE BLOOD Cafe Collaboration (Food, Part 2)

Hello, Heroes and Heroines!

Right now, as I type this entry, I'm suffering from bouts of insomnia and depression. There are days when my depression feels as though it has become a thing of the past. I've always done my best to deny it as though it doesn't exist. But, alas, it creeps in during moments in my life wherein stress becomes too much to handle. I've always done my best to be as professional, to work and not let my personal problems get in the way of any of my activities. And if I were to be honest, that's the way by which I operate on a daily basis. It's just... there are good days and bad days. For 2 days now, a dark cloud has been following me and I try to befriend it.

I got to bed by 1 AM. In the end, I just got out of bed as The Sandman has yet to come and visit me. So I decided to type up this entry instead, hoping it'll give my mind some clarity!

No matter what happens, I must always strive for the best. I can't expect anything less from myself as I have spent so much of my time preparing. As April comes to a close, I hope I am at peace when I wave hello to May. We have so many things to do.

On my final visit at the DiaLovers cafe, I asked to be seated on Kanato's spot!

Are those candies for me, Kanato-chi? Thank you very much, hihi! Also, a smile on Kanato-chi's face definitely brightens up anyone's day!

No matter what time of day you go to Adores Cafes, there will (always) be fans coming in to dine and surround themselves with their favourite series / characters! This lady in front of me was a die hard Shu fan! Unfortunately, I didn't bring my Shu pins and coasters at my last visit so I couldn't trade any of my Shu items for her Kanato ones.

*sad face*

I love how she dressed Shu-kun with an adorable Christmas-like cape! It kinda suits him, don't you think?

My Mom ordered Ayato's Takoyaki dish!

Err, what to say... what to say... This is definitely an average Takoyaki, if you ask me! If you really want some Takoyaki... please get it from Gindaco instead! The batter was dense so when you bite into it, you don't get a crunchy exterior and a fluffy inside. The sauce and mayo were also an overkill. Everything layered one after the other... one dense component on top, finishing it all up was so difficult.

Mom forced me to split it with her! Gah!

It seriously resembles Ayato's personality though... I'll give 'em that. It's nothing short of extremely overbearing...!

Another one of Mom's orders is Shu-san's Lethargy Heart!

Coasters~ Anyone want to trade?

A lovely Japanese girl gave me her extra Kanato coasters along to trade for Yuma! I've never cared much for Yuma as a character. I do know that lots of girls like him, but he's never appealed much to me! So, yes, you are free to take my Yuma anything. Haha! I guess he does look like he's one of the hottest of the bunch, eh?

... Mika-chan, please reconsider your choices for your biases / relationships...

Mika-chan's main meal is... Reiji-san's Gratin!

I've always been quite fond of gratin so it wasn't a difficult decision to choose whether to go for Reiji-san's Gratin or Shu-san's Clam Risotto. The pasta was well cooked and the cheese blended well with the cream. Over-all, it's nothing spectacular but a great snack either way! Also that cross pattern was quite adorable.

I also ordered Azusa-san's Insanity Blood Drink!

I didn't expect to love Azusa as a character. When I first went to the cafes, I DID notice him and his appearance. I thought, "Aww, hey, he looks creepy... and cute." but the more I got into the series, the more I fell in love with him.

Until... he burned Teddy. GAWD.

The refreshing drink tasted similar to that of blue gatorade but was a bit more refreshing? Like a sparkling drink, yes, that would be a more accurate description! The cream on top didn't go well with it at all! It kinda messed with my palate for a bit. Still. It looked beautiful!

For dessert, I had Ruki-san's Coffee Fondue plus Kanato's Disease Sweet!

There isn't much to say about this fondue because it's literally just fruits you dip on the coffee fondue! It looked absolutely adorable on the photo so I definitely had to try it! I wasn't disappointed!

And lastly, Subaru-san's White Rose Cake!

I loved this dish! The only thing that weighs it down is the denseness of the chocolate cake. It's very heavy but at the same time rather moist. If you lace it with the cream underneath the strawberries as well as the fresh cream with the strawberry coulis, then it tastes absolutely gorgeous! (Just like Subaru-san~ Hehe!)

Thank you very much for reading! This is it for my Diabolik Lovers Cafe experiences!

Inside Mika's Tummy: February 2016

Hello, Heroes and Heroines!

A lot of you probably take photographs of your food. So do I! I've decided to compile everything I eat during my trips for your viewing pleasure here (hehe!). Please enjoy!

Adores x Diabolik Lovers MORE BLOOD Cafe Collaboration (Food, First Visit)

Hello, Heroes and Heroines!

I had a long sleep today! (10 hours!) Ah, and now I'm feeling quite refreshed!

Having only gone to Ikebukuro a handful of times in the past, I was a bit scared to trudge onto this unfamiliar territory. As I jumped into the Yamanote line with my Mom, I did not hesitate to pull-out my handy iPhone and search for the Adores cafe on the Maps app. Unfortunately, there were no results. I remember feeling beat up after our morning breakfast at the train station. My Mom is 52, and gets easily tired to walk long distances. I never want to inconvenience here in any way! Even if she is my Mom, I get embarrassed whenever I make certain mistakes.

Thankfully, I simply followed the Sunshine City exit at the train station and it was on the way! Hooray for the awesome urban developers of Tokyo!

This was my first ever anime cafe. It sparks up such beautiful memories inside my heart. There are days when I feel as though I am not good enough, that I will never be able to fulfil anything. But as my heart longs for these kind of places, I must work hard to achieve those goals. Certainly, I will do my best!

Please get them if you're interested as they are sold out already!

I'm currently testing out a new way of colouring! What do you think?

On my first day, I sat on Kou-chan's table! He's adorable!  I also love that his table colour was pink! (or should I say magenta...?)

The drinks my Mom and I ordered were Kanato's Disease Sweet and Subaru's Destructive Ash!

Kanato's Disease Sweet was a purple berry juice. Please correct me if it's actually grape juice as that was the taste I got! The flavour was saturated so I waited for the ice to melt before drinking it. A lot of girls also purchased his drink while I was there so you just know it's one of the cafe's best sellers! Or maybe there are just plenty of Kanato fans, eh, eh? *nudges you*

*interviews Mom*

"Mama? Anong lasa nung Destructive Ash? / Mama? What did the Destructive Ash taste?"

Mika's Mama: "Masarap! / Delicious!"

Subaru's Destruction Ash is also a hit!

Notable drinks that also looked great in my opinion: Ayato's Sadistic Cherry and Reiji's Acrimonious Mojito!

Shu's Roast Beef dish was delish!

If you looked at the original photo, you'd notice that the actual product is so much better than the one on the photo! We were here for breakfast so you can imagine how lovely it was to be able to eat this as my first meal of the day! It set a wonderful tone to my day, and I am genuinely pleased with it all! The meal included slices of roast beef along with a side salad and dressing. Underneath it was a bed of freshly cooked rice. There's also beef broth in a container and you can put it on top of your meat or salad~

*My Mom was so hungry that she didn't give me a chance to photograph her bamboo pasta. It was Azusa's dish!

Coasters I got!

Ah, if you know me quite well, you'd know how much I live for that shredded daikon on top of the meat! It was a wonderful compliment to the entire meal. I am happy!

This wasn't my original order!

But as you all know my Japanese is bad that I mistook Kanato's Pancakes to Yuma's Ice-Cream Sandwich! I was so sad!

However, it's all right! Why? Because it tasted amazing! Ice-cream buns are sold here in the Philippines, too! It's a popular street food!

The buns on Yuma's dish were slightly toasted. Inside are two scoops of both vanilla and chocolate along with a fruit coulis and fresh cream. Everything combined together beautifully! The serving is quite small but the flavours pack a punch!

Of course, I ordered another drink: Kou's Beauty Devil!

It's a refreshing grapefruit drink perfect for such a hot day!

Mom ordered Laito's dessert!

There's Matcha cake, a Matcha macaron along with fruits and cream. Look at that small chocolate cake shaped as Laito's hat! *screams*

It's picture perfect!

You get your place mats when you pay for your meal! You can either get them laminated for 100 yen or as is!

One more post for Diabolik Lovers coming up! Thank you for sticking with me!

Adores x Dance with Devils Cafe Collaboration (First Visit)

Hello, Heroes and Heroines!

As of the moment, I'm watching this beautiful documentary called Children Full of Life. I don't want to spoil it for anyone, but it's a wonderful documentary on a Grade 4 Japanese class and their teacher Mr. Kanamori. Please do watch it if you can! This video was inspiring and affirming in plenty of ways. I really want to work with children in the near future! I think it would make me the happiest if I can see children smile on a daily basis! (Of course apart from my own children!)

I have such a soft (or should I say sensitive?) heart it's unbelievable. I easily cry when it comes to these things.

At the end of the day, I believe we must all protect and love one another. Irregardless of differences or no matter how strained our relationship with one another is. There's no other way. We must all band together and be on each other's side instead of besting one another. I hope one day I get to see that goal reached.

But that's not our topic for today!

Also, if you haven't read Part 1, it's over here!

The menu of the Dance with Devils cafe is quite small as compared to the other 2 Adores cafe I visited during my visit. As you can see there are a mere 4 meals (which have small servings nonetheless) and 3 desserts.

When I was there, there were only 2-4 staff members so I find the menu good enough to work with! I empathise with them, of course. My Mom didn't order any of the meals as she loves the ramen we eat over at Akihabara!

The Drinks menu were also a good amount! As compared to the other 2 cafes, the Dance with Devils drinks are way more vibrant. A part of me regrets not trying out the Dance with Devils drink and Ritsuka's drink! (Or the one with Lindo and Ritsuka at the bottom!)

I have to admit that the merch doesn't have much variation on the designs, but it's alright! The fact that Dance with Devils is even getting this much merch is quite fascinating. There were never plenty of people during my 2 visits but you can tell that this series has its devoted fans. I bought a Rem mug for myself!

Some photos of the cafe from my iPhone!

Let's move on to the dishes!

On my first visit, this was the first drink I ordered! I definitely loved this! The bottom portion has apple-tasting jelly and the purple part tastes like Yakult? (I'm obsessed with Yakult, hehe!) Oh, and I got my darling Lindo as a coaster~ *SCREAMS*

My Mom ordered Roen's chocolate drink.

I'm going to be honest... I'm not going to continuously pretend that my Mom and I always agree on going to anime cafes. She doesn't mind the atmosphere, the series or the characters... but my Mom loves HUGE and savoury meals. In fact, Mama always goes to Yoshinoya to order a 3-piece Unagi / eel set every other day so when I ask to go to these cafes, she's always a bit iffy. Why? Well, they are quite expensive. 980 yen can get you a huge bowl of ramen or a big rice bowl. Second, well, my Mom EATS big. Haha! Myself included. Small servings at anime cafes won't do it for her!

I also got Mage's meal!

They're Inarizushi wrapped with bacon, tamagoyaki and two small meat buns. I loved the Bacon-wrapped Inarizushi. They were the best! The tamagoyakis were fluffy but cold. And the meat buns were average, haha!

My Mom also ordered Roen's dessert!

It's a chestnut Mont Blac! How lovely!

... and I, naturally, ordered Ritsuka!

We basically tried all the desserts! I'd say Ritsuka's was the best.

But I'm biased because everyone knows I have a love affair with berries.

Roen bids you goodbye after your meal!

You're so adorable, Roen!

I had a Pomeranian named Boston until Dad decided to bring him to La Union and he got lost there... somehow. I just hope he's okay.
