May 2016: Mika visits Pom Pom Purin Cafe's 20th Anniversary!

Hello, Heroes and Heroines!

I like to refer to people as heroes and heroines. I get that it's a rather ~cheesy~ greeting, but I'll continue to do it nonetheless. Everyone can be a hero / heroine, after all. I'd like to believe that every one is good deep inside especially during these difficult times. I've come to the terms now that I'm well past my high school years, and God has yet to grant me a talking & flying mascot, a wand and the mission to save the terms. Perhaps in the near future. *crosses fingers*

My Mom and I's tradition to eat at the Pom Pom Purin cafe before leaving has been completed! Coincidentally, it was also Pom Pom Purin's 20th anniversary! (There wasn't really any changes... no spectacular decorations either except for these cute mats, coasters and stickers.)

As per usual, the cafe is booked! I mean, who doesn't like Purin? It's a cafe must-see should you ever be in Harajuku!

Look at that Purin dressed up as the cafe's waitress! Too cute!

*kira kira sparkles everywhere*

It was still the same menu / cafe items except for this new dish for their 20th anniversary celebration! I believe it's a Thai-inspired dish with several components, but mainly it's chicken and rice alongside spring rolls and crackers. Really good!

I feel compelled to bow after seeing Purin bow to me, haha!

My drink! I forgot what it was called... but I do know that I only have the cafe latte left to finish drinking up their menu, hihi!

Eating out with my husband, Marx (Fire Emblem Fates!)! My meal for that day was great! EGG, EGG, EGG. *drools*

My dessert was pudding, french toast and sorbet! My berry sorbet melted though, sigh!

See you in a couple of weeks, Purin!

I hope you guys enjoyed my entry!

O-Kun Fiesta 2 Recap!

Hello, Heroes and Heroines!

To which I say, OH MY GOD.

The con was extremely fun! Of course, I had some minor slip-ups but over-all, it was a pretty great time! I got to meet a lot of people, see cosplay in action and connect with others. There are plenty of things I still have to learn, but I'm willing to accept my weaknesses in order to better myself~ Over-all, I'd say it was a success!

I mean that in a personal success kind-of way!

The best part was being able to hang out with my cousins Lauren and Ate Avene. They're from my Dad's side, and we all live apart from each other. My cousin, Lauren, still lives at our province of Baler. Hopefully, she ends up deciding to study in Manila for college so she and I can get to hang out more! Next, Ate Avene lives in Taguig which is quite far from QC. I never leave QC as much anymore since I returned back here to finish college. Over-all, 2 days was short, and I guess... in a way, I wish it didn't end!

My first ever convention ID! It feels good to at least get HC out there. Quite a proud moment! I think I'll purchase a cute lanyard to attach all my con IDs at. ^ u ^ /

It was my first time ever doing ingress. Everyone was incredibly professional with the way they handled their work. I, on the other hand, was a complete mess. I didn't know what to do. On the first day, I arrived way too late. I was so confused! Good thing Kuya Sonny helped me out, otherwise, I would have just cried at that time. I felt horrible as I understood that it was my responsibility, and I had to take care of things myself and that the people I was with were just there to help out with selling. No matter how many times I visualized everything in my head, things still didn't go the way I expected them to. The initial stage frustrated me a lot. though I celebrated it at the end!

I am willing to learn and work harder next time!

If I were to be honest, I'd say that I was completely disappointed by how my booth looked especially on the first day. Next time around, I'll work harder. Failure is no longer an option!  A lot of people praised how my booth looked like, but everything wasn't as balanced and pretty as I wanted it to be. That said, I had limited time. Everything is a lesson, and I can proudly say that I have better handle on things especially with the decoration. I can better visualise things in my head.

We hung up the its-bags, and it took a lot of people's attention!

I don't get to see them often. Especially now that things are becoming more hectic. At the end of the day, I'm at peace and grateful that such kind people are by my side, I couldn't be anymore thankful even if I tried!

Work-in-progress! I overslept on the second day! > w <

My Mom gratefully bought me those 2 displays for my nendoroids to which I nearly cried absolute tears of joy! We didn't have that on the first day so my heart is full of gratefulness when I realised that she bought them for me. *sniff*

Things to work on:

  • Math SKILLZ
  • Not be so awkward / stiff talking to people and customers
  • Better booth design
  • Change system
  • Planning
  • Get better sleep the night before
  • Not panicking for change >__<
  • Hang and make more friends!

This shop was the best! I'm an Ilokana (50%!) so you know how we feel about our empanada and longganisa. :3 I ordered the double egg twice~ This is where they also sold Bagnet rice. I forgot what the shop's name was... my only regret after the con!

Clogged my arteries, too! Wee hee!

Touken Ranbu sons are POPULAR!

Highlights of the event:

  • Getting to spend time with cousins and friends!
  • Meeting friends online~
  • Seeing other people smile when receiving their items / freebies!
  • Getting to introduce Heroine Complex and Clucky Jr.
  • Seeing people's creativity and costumes!
  • Got to meet Ate Chai, Shanice, Steph, Juju, Ami and Ritsuki! All are so pretty and lovely in real life!
  • Ate Avene and her crush (the dude in front of our booth~)
  • Laughing the whole time!
  • My parents visited me! My Dad even came home from Region 03 to visit! I am so blessed!

My Dad kindly visited me even though he was at Region 03. <3 He even helped with changes. I'm truly blessed~ I'll never stop saying it! I'm one of the luckiest girls in the world.

Kris's art always makes people happy!

I am so blessed! Thank you so much, everyone, for your kindness and treating me well!

Ate Avene gave me her egg! SO NICE OF HER!

I hope to see you all at the next con! (Otaku Expo!)
