The Guest Cafe & Diner x New Prince of Tennis II Cafe Part 3

I feel so strong!

Ah, maybe because it's the prospect of writing this entry. I love Prince of Tennis so maybe just the very thought of writing something for this series is giving me a little zing! I feel as though I'm falling into a routine. Like, I want to come out of my shell, my routine and do plenty of great things. This is how I feel right now. And surely, I know... that I will succeed at everything I choose to do. I know that some form of confidence is needed to succeed. I feel like I'm capable, and I am willing to do anything it takes to get there. Even if I'm berated, I'll rise above everything. I cannot afford to lose the faith that people have given me.

For people to believe and trust in you... I think that's one of the most priceless things in the world. A lot of people are willing to die just to feel that, and I'm glad I am reminded of my worth every single day.

Today, I'd like to talk about my final (and second) visit to The Guest Cafe for the New Prince of Tennis collaboration!

I wasn't able to take photographs of the menu during my first visit, so why not post some now? I love the Red-Blue-White theme. It reminds me of a diner-themed cafe. I truly enjoyed the illustrations of the boys. Look at all those handsome captains (+ 1 future captain!) <3 It's truly a wonderful sight for the eyes. I've been blessed!

I was able to try everything on the meals menu. For the dessert menu, unfortunately, I couldn't try 2 desserts. Let me roughly translate them for you! Kintarou's "I won! I won!" Shitennouji Dessert Tower (1680 Yen)! So yes, Shitennouji has a meal, too. The most expensive item in the menu, too! I already tried a dessert tower from the Yowamushi Pedal cafe, so... I didn't prod myself to try this. It basically contains lots of small tea time sweets and fruits. This was pretty popular! Next is Ryoma & Ryoga's French Toast (1380 Yen). Ryoga supposedly added extra milk for Ryoma. (It seems Ryoga was narrating this, hehe!) He also added Vanilla ice-cream and oranges which are his favorite.

The drink menu! The only item I wasn't able to try here was Sanada & Yanagi's Japanese Style Black Tea (680 Yen). I was trying to convince myself that maybe I should order it for my Mom for photography's sake, but I couldn't bring myself to it. The ladies I sat next to ordered it, and it seemed fine for them... but just! No. The description goes something like, A Japanese-style tea wrapped in a black aura of refreshing taste. Light taste that Yanagi likes. Perfect for a meal.

Let's head onto Seigaku's meal which is Fuji's Triple Counter Pasta with 3 Spices (1180 Yen). Tomato soup with clams and shrimp. The seasonings, as written on the spices' container, are Fuji's counters namely: Higuma Otoshi, Tsubame Gaeshi and Hakugei. Now, these are your typical spices like hot sauce, cayenne pepper and togarashi seasoning. I guess the concept is pretty cute and innovative. However, my Mom commented that it was pretty bland and didn't enjoy it so much.

Goya Taco Rice (1180 Yen)! This was what I ordered for myself on the second day. If you've been reading most of my blog / cafe entries, I absolutely love taco rice. A Higa reference! Well, it was really good and I liked it a lot! The soft boiled egg really made everything come alive together. Also, I love how they fried the ampalaya / bitter gourd / goya and it was like an added element of texture. Over-all, it was so yummy!

Another Higa School offering is this Hirakoba and Kai's Okinawa Pineapple and Kiwi Shake (780 Yen).  They sprinkled on some brown sugar and added fresh cream to top everything off. It was good! I liked it a lot. I would have rather drank Niou and Yagyu's drink again because I'm more interested in artificial jelly flavours, but this was a good change of pace.

Tezuka's Zero Shiki Drop Mousse (1280 Yen)! "Let's eat without being careless!"A tennis ball passion fruit mousse and a sponge cake. The biggest cop out ever in the cafe. I really didn't like this meal. At all. I wish I'd taken a risk and eaten Ryoma and Ryoga's dish instead. I feel like this was my only regret from the cafe. To begin with, the cake itself was way too dense. It had a grainy texture that goes against your taste buds so it felt scratchy on the throat. The mousse, ideally, would've cut down that texture but it was way too light and you couldn't taste its flavor if any at all. The salad it came with was good. But it was a very basic fruit concoction.

... and probably the highlight to end of my beautiful TeniPuri cafe experiences is... getting to see Takeshi Konomi-sensei work in action! He drew Ryoma and thanked everybody at the cafe which is something I'll never forget in my entire life. I was supposed to go earlier, but God has His ways and was lucky enough to get to be in his presence for a short time! I felt so blessed and happy! I couldn't ask for more! Thank you, God! I've loved this series since I was in 7th grade, so I felt my Grade 7 self surge out from my consciousness and felt grateful. <3

To more Prince of Tennis adventures!

The Guest Cafe & Diner x The New Prince of Tennis II Part 2

Ah, ah, finally getting this out!

My story, HC's story is just beginning. Has anyone listened to Kana Nishino's Story? That's how I feel about everything right now. No matter what I've triumphed or overcome, I still feel like everything is only just unfolding, as though it's not even where I'm supposed to be yet. Everything is only starting. And there are times when I am tempted to give-up, but it's something I can't do.

So, I'll just let it go~

I wasn't sure if I was ever going to get this out. A part of me didn't really want to ever post this because it's making me relive all the fun I had... and that it's never going to happen again. Anime cafes in Japan only ever appear for a certain period of time. It sucks that when I return soon, I'll never be able to go to this Prince of Tennis cafe again. (Unless they'll be doing another collaboration in the near future.) I'd hope I could visit once more, but visiting two times in one trip must already be considered a lot. Haha!

However, with that said, I'm more than satisfied. I got to meet new friends, spend time with my Mom and eat most of the goodies!

Let me talk about the food I ate during my first visit! :3

Now, disclaimer: I am quite the glutton. With that said, some of these were split with my Mom. If only I had extra space for more food, I'd eat everything all at once!

Hyotei Cafe Latte (680 Yen)

It's pretty much like your average, run of the mill cafe latte. Nothing new, nothing spectacular. Just some good ol' cuppa joe. Why I ordered this though was because of the Hyotei school emblem. And y'all know how I like to represent mah boys! A lot of girls were ordering the same thing. They had every possible school in TeniPuri world to choose from. :) Naturally, I stuck to my ultimate bias because why not?

Niou and Yagyu's Ball Disappears! Illusion Soda (880 Yen)

For awhile, I didn't figure out how to drink this! I tried to look around the other girls drinking theirs, and they pretty much did it all differently. Some would eat the cotton candy separately while others placed it on top of their drinks and recorded it as it disappeared. As the name suggests, it seems the proper way to do it was the latter.

It's a gimmick drink to be sure! My third-world self can't comprehend why I should waste cotton candy (which is kinda a perfectly good treat on its own) and put it on my drink only for it to disappear and not have an effect on the drink itself.

However, I do love this drink! It has a very fruity, green apple taste to it. Apparently, it has 3 different layers including Calpis and orange jelly. It was super refreshing.

Puri!

Shiraishi's "Ecstacy!" Cheese Doria (1380 Yen)

A LOT OF GIRLS WERE ORDERING THIS. Probably 60% of girls were eating this dish, and for good reason. It tasted phenomenal. If you love cheese as much as I do, you'd probably love this. Hands down. The veggies were fresh and cut the richness of the cheese. You'd probably feel a little dizzy after eating this, but it'd send you to heaven, that's fo' sho! The doria was strewn around with some salmon, spinach cream and rice at the bottom.

The menu's description said that the cheese on top was to simulate Shiraishi's bandages. *tilts head* I really, really don't see it. But, whatever. It was good. I can't fault it for whatever reason. A+! This was the best meal.

Please... don't tell my husband Atobe.

I wanted to replace Shiraishi with Atobe, haha!

Atobe's Elegant Sunday Morning Plate with Tea Set (1580 Yen)

If you've been following me, you'd immediately know that I have a huge bias and love towards Atobe. Hence, it was only natural that I would order his meal. This was also the most expensive item in the meals menu. Indeed, as the name suggests, it looks so elegant and not to mention expensive. The buttery bread was crisp and freshly baked. The prosciutto tasted rather too smoky. Basically, it was a basic dish with plenty of components. It's delicious, but I tend to not eat these kinds of things. I like food that has a lot of explosive flavour!

But for Atobe, I will!

... I asked my Mom to finish the rest. ;;;;

Atobe's meal also came with a basic tea.

Yukimura & Bunta's Gardening Style Cake (1380 Yen)

My Mom can't eat too much sweets so we split this dessert. I'm not sure why Bunta (Marui)'s name is included here. (Am I missing some reference?) I just know that he loves sweets as do I! The chocolate ganache was thick and decadent. When you eat the fruits alongside the tart, it cuts the richness of the chocolate which I appreciate. I don't like extremely thick and heavy chocolate dishes. This, however, I love!

I know it looks rather big because of how I photographed it, but please don't be deceived. It was small as heck!

*burps*

Please watch out for my third entry!

The Guest Cafe & Diner x The New Prince of Tennis II Part 1

Let's work hard!

Lately, I've been a listening to a lot of conferences, and I've been so inspired to work harder. I don't want life to happen to me. I want to create the best life that I can possibly live. For the longest time, I've been begging for good things to happen to me. But I know now that that's selfish. In a difficult world, people are struggling to live their lives as well. So why should I expect others to make it easier for me? I tend to work around in an operative mood. Let's get this done. Let's just make sure that we push things so we can progress. But really, I've hard time figuring out my purpose. Why do I do this? In the long run, will this make me happy? So I wait for answers, but they never come.

I don't want to give-up, and I never will. I'll power through work, and I know someday, what's meant for me will come. And those things will stay. For now, the journey has simply just begun. I want to live a beautiful life that I will one day come back to and be proud of.

These are the photos from The Prince of Tennis II x The Guest Cafe collaboration!

It was a moment of serendipity, really. I started playing GakuPuri weeks before, and I ended up falling in love with the series that I grew-up with. <3 They happened to have a cafe going on when I was going to be in Tokyo. It was truly a pleasant surprise.

I'm not going to type so much in this entry. Instead, I'll let my photographs do the talking. (Which I know is the reason why you're reading this!)

I hope you enjoyed! See you in my succeeding entries!
